He urges them to take a well-deserved tassa, but this time off from the Shah family drama and focus on themselves โ for now. Anuj, who has been Anupamaโs strongest support till now feels that it is possible for them to find the lost peace if they take a step back.
But Anupama is caught in two minds. She knows Anuj means well, but she is the one her family โ and particularly Baa-Bapuji who have always banked on Sonakshi for everything. The very thought of cutting them off, even for a few days, seems like repulsion to her.
While Anupama deals with her internal conflict another problem arises in the Shah family. Samar and Dimpy are in search of marriage. Their love, which used to look so perfect, is now wasted. There is so much tension here that it should be easy to see the cracks in their relationshipโฆsomething isnโt rightโฆ
Samar who is least bothered about his wife, is as well busy with work than family but Dimpy is unable to take her and asks the right question of what everybody wants to know. She yells at him for always favouring his family over their marriage and an argument ensues. Samar meanwhile feels suffocated between his wife and family. He likes dimpy but he has a bigger responsibility on his shoulder that is to be with her family especially Anupama.
The constant tug of war between Samar and Dimpy further compounds in the episode, thereby highlighting how easily their existing individual dilemmas exude deteriorating impacts on each member of the Shah family.
The competition inside Anupama grows more challenging as she endeavours to maintain caring for her family while falling in love again with Anuj. She realizes that Anuj only wants her to walk away because he is worried, but knows she cannot bring herself to do it as India Gate calls and pulls at her heartstrings. The man is forced into a loveless marriage, and for the woman he loves who nurtures these mensโ children in their gardens Anupama has just such depth of self-hatred you can see her soul recoil when she realises what that means.
Anupama is depicted with a heavy realism throughout the episode. She is not the perfect mother or wife, she is a human being making difficult choices. The episode does a good job of revealing her placing as an outsider, which is made even more relatable to the audience by showing someone so vulnerable.
She turns to Bapuji for advice in a tear-jerking moment. Anupama talks her heart out to Bapuji, who is not only the lifeline and guiding light but also a patient listener. He gets it, and delivers some of his sage wisdom that essentially says its totally fine to think about your own happiness sometimes. Notwithstanding, he also expresses the loyalty that a family shows to its members.
This conversation does clear things up for Anupama, but not fully. With this advice from Bapuji, she gets a new outlook but ultimately itโs her decision
Such a serious conversation with Anuj availing no more and the episode to end on that cliffhanger. She hears his concerns and assures him of her love, but also lets it be known that she simply canโt walk completely away from the Shahs. Anupama gives it up to him and says they can take small steps towards rebuilding their relationship But only till what she has already compromised They have a family too which needs her.
This is a pretty decent compromise I would say, but you can definitely see that we have our work cut out for us. Another episode ends on Anuj expression thinking face and one wonders how this will affect their future dealings.
