At the same time, Malishka starts playing her mind game and tells Rishi that it is not right on his part to shift towards Nikki. She takes advantage of his vulnerability, sowing the seeds in him to doubt himself and pine for Lakshmi.
Malishka’s strategic actions act as the best example to show that power is in full play here. She does whatever is in her hand just to have Rishi with herself like literally anything. It raises curiosity as to what Malishka will do in order to get the answer.
So, after some consideration she takes a step which could either mend or break her bond with Rishi. When she envisions herself at her wits end but no longer willing to lay down in silence, she stands and goes on to right-hand man Rishi regarding his things. This is the conversation that she knows has been a defining moment for her, and she refuses to hide any longer.
One of the scenes with Lakshmi having this big moment in talking to Rishi is great. By talking to him, she has strength and power. This is a point of growth for Lakshmi, because it marks the moment she stops becoming an observer in her own life and takes control over what choices are within reach.
The scene between Lakshmi and Rishi is raw, burning with intensity. Lakshmi bares her soul, expressing all the worries and insecurities as well as aspirations she has about their future. Rishi is in a fix with his almost-pining feeling towards her and the insistence by Malishka. And the conversation becomes a critical moment where they have to either rescue their friendship or part ways forever.
The approach is undeniably respectful and grants the pocket defence a real-world and genuine feel. She finds herself unable to understand what’s happening, and viewers everywhere likely empathise with this poignant moment that goes deeper than just love & trust — it also points towards hampered communication between 2 people.
The episode ends with the future of Lakshmi and Rishi in question. These are most certainly decisions that will have lasting effects on all of the characters in their lives spurting forth from this episode.
