On the 2nd September Bhagya Lakshmi episode, we witnessed an explosion of almost every possible emotion on the show coupled with intense relationships. While Lakshmi contemplates the repercussions for her choice, it becomes juxtaposed with heavy inner turmoil. A conflict in which she must choose between her loyalty to family and relative contentment. The introspection of this moment underscores Lakshmi’s selflessness, and depicts her as ready to make a difficult decision when it comes at the expense of satisfying what she really wants.
Meanwhile on the other end, Rishi confronts his own inner demons. Rishi has always stood by Lakshmi, until their recent life event leaves him torn. There is something fishy, he can sense it about Lakshmi and he will not stop until the truth comes out. Rishi is clearly worried about Lakshmi at this moment, and we see him struggling with his feelings as he tries to think of a way that will keep her safe while also respecting the boundaries.
The increasing dual face of Rishi only added by it is the obligations from his family making things even more difficult for him. Rishi is in a place where it looks like every decision he makes will impact his family or Lakshmi. This internal battle gives him layers and flaws that the audience can relate to.
On the other hand, Malishka has been looking at Rishi from day one and here she tries to create a rift between him & Lakshmi. In this episode, Malishka is smartly playing with her manipulative techniques by using the angst going on in family. On several occasions, she tries to cripple Lakshmi, in order for her rebellious willpower to dwindle down but every time Malishka endeavours against, the compassionate vigour of an unyielding spirit beams forth from within; a form very much alienated by then.
The word for Rishi that serves as the beginning of his own finding is actually at last a burden to a wall made up thanks to Malishka. Rishi begins to doubt Malishka and the way he saw her until now changesRIshi is not able to apply for a check-mate.
The lines between the families especially in the Oberoi family are blurred to a point of no return as we can tell from the episode. The story is filled with conflict which arises in Lakshmi’s decision and somewhat in Rishi’s dilemma, and Malishka much longer wishes to play games. There is an air of tautness in the family, with all members dealing with their personal dilemmas and having moments where everything simmers or explodes.
Nonetheless, Lakshmi’s courage and resolve remain a ray of hope amidst all adversities. She maintains her values even at times when it is difficult and this relates to audiences, creating a character they can get behind.
As Lakshmi is about to announce her decision, the episode ends on an emotional cliffhanger. The tension is palpable as one wonders how Rishi will respond, what this means for them in the future. The stakes are high, and depending on how this conversation goes.

One after the other, Bhagya Lakshmi keeps coming up with hard-hitting stories that manage to strike a chord and tug at one’s heartstrings. This was a great episode, and one that really set up the dynamic of having love responsibilities alongside learning to work through duty versus what you should do. While Lakshmi and Rishi tackle these hurdles, viewers can expect many more twists and emotional upswings ahead.
