In today’s episode of Bhagya Lakshmi, we witness a series of surprising twists that are set to change the course of the storyline. Even as Neelam has managed to convince Rishi to take a hard look at the existential picture, and determine what would be his real priorities going forward. This end only creates further impasse for rishi on which road to walk with. This episode is largely focused on the emotional balance this situation requires, and again we are reminded that relationships between family members- especially ones in love with each other, are not a game of checkers.
Lakshmi turns out to be the last of his party to respond, but he would not go down quietly. Also, she lays down the law for the entire family and does not allow herself to be stepped on emotionally any longer. This is a very important moment for Lakshmi in the course of her character development, when she slowly grows from being an introvert and someone who surrenders to the situation to wanting to stand up for herself.
Lakshmi speaks from the heart. She elaborates on how her entire life she has been left caring for the health of the family often under the sacrifice of her own happiness. But now, she’s had enough. The family gets shocked by her bold act, Bradley is left stunned more than another member of the family, Rishi! It is the first time that Rishi seems to understand how much Lakshmi has suffered and sacrificed.
As Lakshmi displays this courage, Mahi who has been watching from the sidelines is taken aback. She tries to interfere but Lakshmi responds quietly and firmly, telling her to mind her own business. It is a powerful scene and showcases two completely different women — one would you’d say embodies femininity, Lakshmi (quiet but strong) and the other worldly woman, Malishka, who has control like nobody else.
Not surprisingly Malishka is not enjoying any of this and will obviously have a new strategy to wrest back control over the conversation. But Lakshmi taking a strong, necessary stand today suggests she is no longer going to sit idly by as her seemingly larger-than-life life unfolds.
With a cliffhanger ending, the episode guaranteed that viewers will stay tuned for what is to come next. Will Rishi find out the truth, or will Malishka continue to fill his ears against Laxmi? The Oberoi family, on their part, will be shocked to see Lakshmi’s independence?
