The means by which Meera looks to excavate the truth is admirable, if not intrinsically sad. Meera starts confronting him and this builds the tension between Meera, her uncle!!! Not so with her uncle, who remains at large and more determined than ever to get answers.
Coping up with this emotional surge, Meera finds shelter in Arjun (A childhood friend), who has never turned his back on her. This time around, Arjun is nothing but supportive and gives her strength through the mess she has created with respect to relations in her family. But even Arjun gets his quart low. He’s aware that Meera being a dog with a bone could spell more heartache, but he won’t disillusion his partner or urge her to desist. When she reads the letter later, Meera is raw with emotions realising that her family history isn’t as simple as it seemed.
It is this truth revelation that leaves Meera absolutely gobsmacked, and she now has to go back in aami little bit of signals mode. Meera, instead of challenging her uncle once more goes back with less feverish an initiative but then it runs out finding something in her favour this time around.
As Meera is juggling all these obstacles, her bond with cousin Simran sees some strain here and there. Simran who has always been suspicious of Meera claimed that she dug too much into their family history and instead got this, bringing an unsought for trouble. The tension between them is huge in this episode because Simran thinks Meera brings shame on the house and puts their prestige at stake.
They have an ugly fight now carrying lot of heat and Simran says to Meera, ” selfish ho tum bas khud ki shauk e tamanna baat karte raho” ( You are so selfish only keep talking your fancy) Meera, however, stays and tells him that she is trying to protect their family from the lies they have been hiding for a long time. It’s a fascinating addition to the story that makes us wonder if these cousins will ever see eye-to-eye again.
By the end of the episode Meera has more questions than she started out with. So her mother’s letter is a fresh thread of discovery but it also sheds light on how dangerous the road toward illumination can be too. Meera knows she can trust no one but is compelled to comb the countryside looking for leads to her family’s enigmatic history.
Meera and Arjun cross roles but gradually fit in each other’s shoes of the woman who brings conflict into their fault lines that would once have rolled down to tear apart her family. This indeed takes viewers into a cliffhanger state as it is unclear how Meera will deal with this situation but also what she could find that may potentially turn everything on its head.
