Ranbir, however, was being defensive and did not know how to react to what Prachi said. Ranbiir has really been experiencing some intense emotions through this all as he tries to juggle the good times with Prachi and pressures that have made them grow further apart. It left quite an emotional punch to the gut, both incredibly painful and in desperate need of processing for these characters.
While Prachi and Ranbir kept fighting, the rest of Mehra family was forced to look up. It shook the whole family, just put a tremor through all of us. Pallavi on the other hand, always had a strong point of view when it comes to Prachi and Ranbir’s relationship between supporting her son or empathising with prachis misery.
At the same time, Dadi-the grandmother of this family was looking at both swiping each other off their nerves and she tried to settle down by sending Prachi. Ranbir told him that you sit quietly then say whatever he wants to say which will give Dadi peace. While every word of wisdom from her only illuminated the importance of communication in a relationship, it was evident that neither Prachi nor Ranbir had their heads quite enough out of clouds to understand.
This was followed by a heart wrenching scene where the flashback of happier times from Prachi and Ranbir’s love story. These flashbacks were a great juxtaposition to what they endured to get where they are now, and worked brilliantly as not only did it reignite the connection that has driven these characters this far but still retains them in our hearts. The peek at history just brought another layer to a poor situation, serving as an out of focus reminder that ‘oh yeah and once upon time things were quite different.
Of course, Rhea was never too far from the fun. Seeing it as an advantage, she decided to break up more close relations of Prachi and Ranbir. In the meanwhile, Rhea showed her true colors when she planted doubt in Ranbir’s mind regarding Prachi and also did a bit of manipulation. Her game is a nice twist on the episode as it makes us wonder how much destruction she is capable of doing with her entered data.
Prachi made a devastating decision at the end of the episode. After all the miscommunications and lack of trust, she was tired as shit so she took a step back. It was an extremely difficult decision for her because she still loves Ranbir a great deal and obviously wants him to be happy. But she also thought that maybe they needed some space from each other to better understand what their feelings were and if this was the type of relationship they wanted.
The 23rd August 2024 episode of Kumkum Bhagya ended on a super-cliffhanger note which is still giving fans the cataclysmic attack in their mind.
