In today’s episode of Kumkum Bhagya (16th September 2024), the ongoing tensions between Pragya (Sriti Jha) and Abhi (Shabir Ahluwalia) reached new heights, leaving fans anxious about the future of their relationship. Their love story, filled with ups and downs, took yet another emotional turn, with both characters wrestling with their feelings but unable to communicate effectively.
The episode started with Abhi getting tensed about Pragya behaviour and the way she was behaving far off. He has a sense there’s something troubling her, but she will not share with him and he becomes frustrated and clueless. The impulsive Abhi on the other hand, makes several attempts to approach Pragya and get a promise out of her that their paths won’t be separated again, but Pragya’s earring behaviour baffles him for which he feels helpless.
On the other hand, today’s episode proved that Abhi too has a heart and the audience sympathise with him as they saw him battling with feelings of guilt and love. He wants to help Pragya but does not know how to do it without making things more difficult for her. One of the best moments in this episode was his internal struggle.
Along with this, Pragya is disturbed about her feelings and she proposes to Abhi. This silence is not due to her lack of love for Abhi, but because she is afraid of being vulnerable to the other. In the episode, Pragya kept remembering the scene and she got all the more conscious to share her own vulnerabilities.
Pragya is a character that has always been about strength and the biggest violation against it this episode was we saw her breaking down. She knows she has to confront Abhi but is afraid of the repercussions that this would cause him, or bringing things up in the worst way possible. It’s hard not to feel for her in this emotional tug of war.
Although Abhi and Pragya’s tension came to the forefront, with Ranbir (Krishna Kaul) and Prachi (Mugdha Chaphekar)it’s heartwarming moment was also shown in the episode. The duo, of course, are otherwise engaged in various emotional struggles throughout the episode and its conclusion was an amusing, much-welcome respite from their endless misery.
Ranbir is seen consoling diffe Prachi who has not been able to get away from the trap of misunderstanding spread by Rhea. The two have a sweet, honest moment that makes fans root for them as much as they have been all along. Their chemistry found its way into the episode, which was anything but light, contributing to a much-needed hopeful ending that at least in their little pocket of the universe, love could conquer all.
In today’s episode, Rhea (Pooja Banerjee) was seen being the vicious ray of hope for the male lead. While Rhea has been unsuccessful with her prior attempts to drive a wedge between Ranbir and Prachi, the girl just does not give up! We pick up with her hatching another scheme in order to further drive a wedge between the couple, but will it work this time?
Sriti has kept fans on their toes with her character’s tactics in Kumkum Bhagya and most are excited to see how far she can get anything by being such a manipulative person. Rhea’s own scheming is also juxtaposed with some soulful interludes among other characters, in a storyline imbued with multiple possibilities.

A cliffhanger is a good build-up for new upcoming episodes. Since Pragya has not been disclosing her truth to Abhi, the duo faces a lot of obstacles especially because of Pragya’s fears. Only time will tell.
Kumkum Bhagya written update: Today’s episode was quite about the complexity of love and communication especially that between Pragya and Abhi. There is an unspoken tension between the two which likely makes this series so appealing to many viewers. In the ongoing dramas of Rhea, Ranbir and Prachi’s sweet moment was a necessary break.
Like episodes before, this one also left the viewers waiting for tomorrow and the day would start to show how well our loved ones do through their difficulties.
